Twitter Advertising Is The Future
icon1 Posted by PPC Fanatic in Social Media Ads on 11 25th, 2009 | No Comments

Twitter has gone from an obscure service that not too many knew about to one of the most popular social networking sites around the world. The service has improved slowly but surely from its early days, and it has implemented a few features that Twitterers asked for overtime. But the company has yet not decided how it wants to monetize its service. So it’s still deciding on the right business model. But you can be sure that Twitter Advertising will be available in the near future. It’s just the matter of time.

Third party companies have already tried to introduce advertising on Twitter. Featured Users is one of the services that let Twitteres to push their profile in front of people who take advantage of Featured Users’ applications around the web. You can buy impressions to push your Twitter profile and gain followers on Twitter. Twitter itself has been testing a few things here or there, though we haven’t seen ads being introduced on Twitter Interface.

Google To Get Tougher on Rogue Advertisers
icon1 Posted by PPC Fanatic in Thoughts on 11 18th, 2009 | No Comments

Going Rogue may sell books for some folks, but it certainly won’t work too well for advertisers. Black-hat Adwords advertisers have been around for what seems to be forever. These folks use unethical practices by bending the rules and shutting out fellow advertisers from making it big on Adwords. Google has been awfully lenient on spammy advertisers in the past, but that is about to change as Google has started a serious crackdown on those need to be dealt with.

Google is focused on protecting its brand and keeping its promise to provide the best service possible to both advertisers and searchers. In part of advertisers, you can’t do that when the rules don’t apply to the rogue PPC marketers. But the focus is more on protecting the searchers from bogus get-rich-soon schemes, malware sites, and any other harmful site that is being advertised through Google Adwords. (more…)

Google Acquires Admob, Strenghtens Push In Mobile Ads Market
icon1 Posted by PPC Fanatic in News on 11 11th, 2009 | No Comments

Google may be the king of the search engine advertising market, but that hasn’t stopped the company to branch out to other platforms and try other forms on advertising. Listing Google’s list of services available for marketers, publishers, and businesses could take a few pages. Google already has a strong base when it comes to displaying advertisements on desktop PCs. But the company understands that the future of advertising is mobile. It already has Android and Chrome going for it, and with the addition of Admob to its disposal, Google is ready to make another strong push to dominate the mobile ads market as well. The Admob team had developed quite a platform for mobile display and that will now be available to Google as well.

The move could also give Apple something to think about as well. With the acquisition of Admob, Google will have access to information on Apple apps, something that could help Google combat Apple’s push in the mobile market more effectively. These two companies have been going back and forth over Google Latitude and Google Voice. I am sure Apple won’t be too impressed with Google’s latest move to gain inside information on what makes mobile users tick. Google argues that the move will help it expand iPhone ads and help developers better monetize their apps. Here is what Google’s CEO had to say about the $750m move:

AdMob is clearly the best of its ilk for applications monetization…We think that’s as strategic as search monetization, which, of course, we’re very good at.
