Google Adsense Revenue Share Out
icon1 Posted by PPC Fanatic in News on 05 26th, 2010 | No Comments

Many PPC professionals and content publishers have been dying to know how much is it that Google takes from its Adsense publishers. Google has decided to finally release some of those numbers. Content publishers’ revenue share is 68% and has not changed since 2003.

AdSense for content publishers, who make up the vast majority of our AdSense publishers, earn a 68% revenue share worldwide. This means we pay 68% of the revenue that we collect from advertisers for AdSense for content ads that appear on your sites.

Google claims that the 32% share that it takes from content publishers goes towards further investments in Adsense program. The search partners only get 51% share of the revenue. That number actually makes more sense, considering that the process behind is a bit more complicated and costly.

We pay our AdSense for search partners a 51% revenue share, worldwide, for the search ads that appear through their implementations. As with AdSense for content, the proportion of revenue that we keep reflects our costs, including the significant expense, research and development involved in building and enhancing our core search and AdWords technologies.

Finding a Job with Google Adwords
icon1 Posted by PPC Fanatic in Ad Tactics on 05 19th, 2010 | No Comments

Google Adwords is a powerful tool if you know how to use it properly. There are a lot of us who use Adwords to gain traffic for our businesses and sell things to other folks. But innovation works in any area of life. That includes online advertising as well. Finding a job with Google Adwords is very much possible if you are creative about it. Alec Brownstein’s story shows that it’s not the tool that matters but how you use it. Google Adwords is a tool. By looking at how people use Google Search, one can formulate a strategy to get the most out of Google Adwords. Here is what Alec did. He started bidding on the name of creative directors on Google. We all have our egos and Google our names from time to time. But those names are not going to be something people bid on (not yet anyway). What better way to gain someone’s attention than actually showing them an ad with their name in it?

StumbleUpon Ads Comes Out of Beta
icon1 Posted by PPC Fanatic in Thoughts on 05 12th, 2010 | No Comments

In case you have not noticed, StumbleUpon has been making some major changes to its interface for advertisers. The new changes were introduced a while back to make it much easier for StumbleuUpon advertisers to manage their campaigns. The service still allowed those who preferred the old interface to switch back. Not anymore. The changes seem to be final, and while we did not get the features we were expecting for, the new interface is a nice minor upgrade.

The new design focuses more on metrics and has a more sophisticated look and feel. Now you can easily find out your effective CPV for your campaigns and even figure out the free stumbles that you have gotten from the service.

PPC Marketing And Affiliate Industry Changes
icon1 Posted by PPC Fanatic in PPC Advertising on 05 5th, 2010 | No Comments

In case you haven’t noticed, the affiliate marketing business has been under attack in multiple states by legislators that are hoping to gain more revenue for their states by slapping Internet tax on retailers in those states. Companies such as Amazon usually do not hesitate to remove affiliates who happen to be unlucky enough to live in one of those pro Internet-tax states.

That’s not the only thing PPC affiliates need to worry about. Many retailers are struggling to keep their affiliate programs profitable these days. That means they will keep changes to their commission structures on a consistent basis. Take Amazon for instance. The company has announced that it will issue commissions on Kindle e-books from now on. Great news, right? But here is the catch. Kindle e-reader commissions are now dropped to as low as 4%. So if you have built your PPC business around promoting Amazon Kindle, you may want to integrate more e-books in your plans. (more…)
